The Many Beaches of Banjole – Discover It All!

There are two main beaches in Banjole although Centinera Beach is the most popular one of all. As a campsite, we are often asked if there are nearby beaches from our location and the answer is always, yes. Nonetheless, we will almost always refer you to Centinera Beach due to its size while it also offers more facilities for guests. However, we’re spicing things up a bit by sharing other beach access points of this small Istrian village that you can visit.

There are several points of entry, each with its own view and advantages, but the ones that are on this list are those that we have personally been to. You may be required to walk/drive/bike a little longer to access these sites so the option is really on each guest to decide where they want to be.

As with any activity you do during the Summer, we always advise that you bring the necessary equipment to your destination. It’s always sunny on the Istrian coast and with unpredictable weather patterns in recent times, the weather went from hot to hotter during this time of the year. Once you’ve packed your gear and lathered enough sunscreen, have a blast taking in Banjole’s beaches!

  1. Soline Beach (from Villa Vita)

Beach Access:

Unfortunately, there is no Google Maps point for the beach access, but it is easy to find. Across the campsite, you will find Villa Vita and there’s a white gravel road right next to the villa. That’s your starting point.

From there, you walk straight following the path. There’s only 1 path and it all leads to Soline Beach. You will pass through houses with farms and will be accompanied by chirping birds and lots of shade.

Advantage:

This part of Soline Beach is the closest to Camp Diana as the beach access is across the campsite. This location is an ideal spot for families with young children as it’s a stony area thus making it easy for children and babies to swim [accompanied by their parents, of course]. You can also canoe your way to the other parts of Soline Bay.

2. Soline Beach (from Lučica Vinkuran)

Beach Access:

Another location where there is no Maps point, but Lučica Vinkuran is the end destination. This destination will give you access to Soline Bay as well. The exact location is a couple of meters before Lučica Vinkuran which is easily identifiable as there’s a flat area with pebbles.

There’s a newly-opened Bar Vala where you can grab a quick bite or cold drinks when you’re hungry or thirsty.

Advantage:

This beach point is popular among older persons and children. Not only do you have access to a flat area to enter the water, but you can also jump from one of the ledges. There are pool ladders scattered around the area in case you seek to swim a bit further away from the shoreline.

3. Soline Beach (from Restaurant Vala)

Beach Access:

Make your way to Restaurant Vala to reach this beach point. The flat, pebbly surface is easy to spot. This section of the beach is quite popular as there are several villas on this section of the street.

Advantage:

Easy access for everyone including amateur swimmers and children. There are a handful of restaurants that operate around the area which is useful for when you’re hungry.

4. Soline Beach (towards Beach Bar Soline)

Beach Access:

Insert Beach Bar Soline on Google Maps and you will be directed towards a stretch of the Soline Bay. You can access the shortcut on foot from the endpoint of Bar Vala then to your left, you will see a signage that says ‘Plaža Kava’. The pathway will take you through a wooded area that leads to a secluded, little-known part of Soline Bay.

The site is also accessible via car through Vinkuran Cesta and you can pull up the directions via Maps.

Advantage:

A wide stretch of Soline Bay that is flat and pebbly making it great for families with young children. The area offers an amazing view of Vinkuran Port and is also fantastic for sunbathing. Visitors will often see birds and ducks floating about in this part of the beach.

5. Centinera Beach (towards Resort Centinera)

Beach Access:

Open this Google Maps point to access one point of Centinera Beach. Similar to Soline Beach, there are various entry points, but Centinera is much easier to access as it’s all connected. You can start from Resort Centinera’s entrance and walk your way to reach other parts of the beach.

Advantage:

The most complete and main beach area in Banjole offers restaurants, bars, and excellent views of the Adriatic Sea. Always a crowd-favorite, everyone enjoys spending time at Centinera Beach for swimming, snorkeling, paddle-boarding, sunbathing, and lounging. If you’re lucky, you can nab a spot under the large pine trees to keep cool.
